Global Communication Report #25
49th Annual International Herpesvirus Workshop
Reported by Shunsuke Yamagami (PhD student)
From July 26 to 30, 2025, I participated in the 49th Annual International Herpesvirus Workshop, held in Berlin, Germany, together with Dr. Murata and Mr. Sato.
At this conference, Mr. Sato and I had the opportunity to present our research findings on Marek's disease virus through both oral and poster presentations. Presenting our work in front of numerous researchers and engaging in discussions during the Q&A sessions provided us valuable feedback and made for an extremely meaningful experience.
In addition, we were able to engage in active discussions not only with researchers in the field of veterinary medicine but also with those studying herpesviruses that infect humans, gaining insights from diverse and interdisciplinary perspectives. Being exposed to the latest research allowed me to reassess the position of my own work and sparked new ideas and directions for future studies.
This experience has been incredibly enriching, and I am determined to further deepen my research based on what I have learned.
