Global Communication Report #30
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and All Things BLV 2026
Reported by Maho Inoue (PhD student)
On July 13, 2026, I visited Dr. Araki and Dr. Sajiki at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Ohio, USA, with Dr. Okagawa and Mr. Nakamura. We received advice on our research and toured the research facilities. This was my first visit to an overseas research facility. I was deeply impressed by its enormous scale, and learning about the latest research methods was truly inspiring, making it a very meaningful experience. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Araki and Dr. Sajiki at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for taking the time to meet with us.
I also participated in All Things BLV 2026, which was held in East Lansing, Michigan, from July 14 to 17.At this conference, we had the opportunity to give oral presentations. We exchanged opinions with researchers on bovine lymphoma virus (BLV) from around the world and had a very meaningful time. We also visited farms and slaughterhouses in the United States, where we were able to observe the differences between those facilities and those in Japan.
Based on the insights and connections obtained during this visit to the United States, we will continue to work hard to contribute to the further progress of BLV research.
