Kaufmann先生との研究ディスカッション Research discussion with Dr. Kaufmann

北海道大学との共同研究の一環で来日されていた、ドイツ・マックスプランク感染生物学研究所 名誉所長のStefan H.E. Kaufmann博士をお迎えし、当教室のメンバーと研究ディスカッションを行いました。
Kaufmann先生は、結核ワクチン研究の第一人者として知られる世界的な免疫学者・微生物学者です。これまでに1,000報以上の論文を発表し、感染症免疫の解明や結核の診断・ワクチン開発において先駆的な研究を続けてこられ、世界でもトップ0.1%の論文執筆者として知られています。
ディスカッションでは、当教室で進めているBLV感染症やイヌ腫瘍における免疫疲弊と免疫チェックポイント阻害剤の研究、ならびに家畜に対するプロバイオティクスの研究について紹介させていただきました。Kaufmann先生からさまざまなご質問やご意見をいただき、教室メンバーにとって非常に有意義で刺激的な経験となりました。

We had the honor of welcoming Dr. Stefan H.E. Kaufmann (Director Emeritus of the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Germany) for a research discussion with members of our laboratory.
Dr. Kaufmann is a globally renowned immunologist and microbiologist, widely recognized as a leading expert in tuberculosis vaccine research. He has authored over 1,000 scientific publications and has consistently led pioneering studies on immune responses to infectious diseases, as well as the diagnosis and vaccine development for tuberculosis. He is also known as one of the top 0.1% scientific authors worldwide.
During the discussion, we presented our research on immune exhaustion and the application of immune checkpoint inhibitors in BLV infection and canine tumors, as well as studies on probiotics in livestock. Dr. Kaufmann posed a variety of insightful questions and comments, making the session a highly meaningful and stimulating experience for our lab members.
